Following on from what can only be described as a busy end to 2019, it has to be said that the start of 2020 has been much of the same.

With our first wedding taking place on the 4th January up in North Norfolk, in the wonderful setting of our clients private garden at their home. You can see our post for this amazing wedding on our Facebook page. Please follow us to see regular updates of what we are up to.

This was followed by the takedown and clear up of the event. At this time of year we have to take additional care of access areas due to heavy footfall and equipment delivery. This is by way of tracking pathways and laying standing pads for things such as toilets, generators and catering vehicles. Even things such as parking areas for guest cars have to be considered - we had one of our trusty 4x4’s on site just in case there was the need to lend a hand if anybody had got stuck.

Don’t forget, we offer a cleaning and washing service to our trade customers for both marquees and linings. We have found over the years that when it comes to marquee pvc, the hand washing option gives the best results.

It was then back to the yard to unload and get ready for a busy couple of weeks with all of the marquee take downs which had been up over November and December.

These had been used for additional cover to restaurants and venues wishing to maximise the number they could accommodate over the festive period. They could then offer a warm and dry option, coming complete with all the trimming and a must for the time of the year, heating.

We are just entering March and it is quite scary to think where January and February have gone. We are out again next week providing a frame marquee for a memorial service for a local client who is expecting people from far and wide to the tune of up to 170 guests, it sad to say, but it’s not always the happy occasions we have to help with.

In the days in-between (which doesn’t seem to be many) we also have to get on with our cleaning and maintenance, which is always carried out during the quieter periods so our equipment is up to the standard so many of our customers have come to expect from the Weatherfield name.

Also for the coming season we have taken on some new recruits already in the form of two additional labours and the possibility of a new crew leader to our existing team and Weatherfield family. Information on their journey and progress with us will follow over the coming months and a proper introduction to each of them and a little background on their past work.
