Christmas is Nearly Here!
What an unprecedented time we are currently in.
In October we saw an increase in enquiries and bookings, although for smaller numbers of guests as laid out in the governments guidance. Nevertheless people were beginning to feel a little more confident in holding their wedding and events again and were trying to arrange things quickly after their long wait.
This however was short lived after the PM’s announcement that we would be going into a second lockdown for November and the beginning of December. We experienced a number of calls and emails from those clients who had booked something with us during the latest lockdown period and frantically wanted to reschedule. We took this all in our stride and the office were able to successfully accommodate their changes.
We were also out onsite erecting a semi-permanent marquee at the end of October in the wonderful grounds of Ketteringham Hall.
This marquee was purchased for the tea rooms to allow for additional guests to be able to enjoy their wonderful afternoon teas and takeaways.

Please remember, we offer bespoke marquees to be purchased to fit most spaces. The above project involved a one-off steel framed lean to awning complete in white with panoramic windows and French doors with a low threshold. This was to help increase space for hospitality during social distancing restrictions.
We also returned to the Colney Covid Test Centre in early November to change the configuration of our marquees to allow for easier access and provide a little more weather protection to the wonderful staff who run the centre on a daily basis.
Weatherfield’s would like to say a huge thank you for everything the staff at the testings centres and NHS have done over this pandemic, you are all amazing.
The Colney Covid Test Centre re-configuration had to be push back date-wise due to one of our team testing positive for Covid 19, which meant we had to self-isolate for 14 days as a precaution. Although we had not been in close contact, we still felt it was best for all. Everybody was fine and it just goes to show that nobody is excluded from this horrid virus.
We are still receiving enquiries for 2021 and have seen a higher than average interest for 2022. Site visits have been taking place and it has been great to see our new customers in person to discuss their needs and provide advice to help with planning their ideas and dreams for their special day.
With the news of a vaccine just around the corner and the talk of Easter being the time the Prime Minster is promising we will be good to go, gives all within the events industry and our customers the positive news we have all been waiting to hear. This should also give confidence to our current and new clients that all will be ok for 2021 events. We can also see from the conversation we have had that this will create a surge in booking as people regain faith in holding not only private functions, but corporate and county events once more.
With Christmas coming up so quickly and the relaxing of some restrictions over this period, what a great time to make a wedding proposal and start the planning procedure whilst all are together!
